Tapir's Kitchen

At Tapir's Kitchen, part of the pleasure is browsing the display case and picking out a few dishes of the day. The selection ranges from sides such as quiche, green salad topped with pastrami and balsamic-sautéed root vegetables to more substantial options including beef tendon curry, simmered hamburg steak and herb-breadcrumbed swordfish. It is easy to put together either a light meal or something more filling.

The selection is said to change daily and with the seasons, so choosing from the display case has its own appeal each time. Vegetable dishes are a mainstay, alongside mains with contrasting flavours, such as pork simmered with black pepper and ethnic-style chicken. Depending on what you choose, the dishes can make a lunch or a side to take home for the table.

You can also eat in. One diner describes a lunch that includes a drink and lets you choose several deli dishes. Coffee is available, as is alcohol, with beer or wine as options to enjoy alongside the food. For dessert, one customer says they particularly like the rice-flour chiffon cake.
